Slice 10524 Ceramic Utility Blades are ideal for handheld applications, such as trimming flash off injection-molded plastic, or for use in third-party handles. Slice developed these blades before creating our own line of utility knives. We recommend that customers try Slice utility knives, but if you need a larger blade for hand-held applications, the 10524 is made with advanced ceramics, which are non-sparking, non-magnetic, chemically inert, safe up to 1600 degrees Celsius, and never rust. Compatible handles include: Lenox 20366SRK1, Alltrade 150003 Auto-Load, WISS Auto Retract WKAR1, IRWIN 2088600, and Milwaukee Fastback 48-22-1901.

  • Blade type: rounded-tip replaceable
  • 2 dual-sided blades per pack

The ceramic blades and knives that I purchased do not meet our needs. They do not cut corrugated board without applying a great deal of pressure.

    • thank you for taking the time to leave your comments. It sounds like it’s more of a training issue or you need a different one of our handles or a different style Slice blade. All of our products cut corrugated like butter or we wouldn’t be in business :-) Please contact us directly at hello @ for additional samples to discuss exactly what type of material you’re cutting and we will get you out the right tools and possibly have one of our outside field engineers visit you too - thank you so much.

These are good they are doing great in our application. We have noticed they shatter easily but that is expected for ceramic.

they would not fit into my box cutter. They would probably work fine in another cutter

    • Thanks for taking the time to leave your comments - yes, since we cannot control what handles are on the market for "standard" utility blade sizes it makes it challenging for our 10524 utility blades to fit all models - at a minimum the 10524 utility blades will fit the following handles :
      - Lenox 20366SRK1- Alltrade 150003 Auto-Load- WISS Auto Retract WKAR1- IRWIN 2088600- Milwaukee Fastback 48-22-1901

      Thanks so much!

More About Slice Ceramic Utility Blades

What Can I Use Ceramic Utility Blades For?

Use these blades for the same applications as you would use a regular utility blade, and more. The properties of advanced ceramics ensure that your blade is non-sparking, chemically inert, autoclave-friendly, and never rusts.

Slice’s thicker, durable ceramic blades do not flex in the same way as metal, so they’re not ideal for any application that exerts a side load or requires the blade to bend. But typical uses, such as hand trimming solder from metal parts or plastic flash from injection-molded products are just as easy, and safer, with Slice utility blades.

What’s the Advantage of Ceramic Blades?

Until now, utility blade types included only steel. The sole customizable option was to choose a different handle. Slice added ceramics to the market.

The best utility blades to reduce hand and finger injuries are Slice blades. Our proprietary grind creates an edge that cuts materials effectively but resists cutting skin. Slice blades hold their cutting edge, on average, 11.2 times longer than steel. This means fewer blade replacements and therefore fewer opportunities for injury.

Other advantages of advanced ceramics come from the properties of the ceramic material. Zirconium oxide is chemically inert, non-sparking and non-magnetic. It can be heated up to 1600 degrees Celsius and requires no special oil or lubricant coating to maintain sharpness.

Does Slice Make a Ceramic Utility Knife?

Yes! We make a whole line of utility knives with different blade retraction options, including fixed-position, auto-retractable, and smart retracting blades. Each ceramic utility knife offers different choices to account for personal preferences and varying safety regulations.

What Handles Will This Utility Blade Fit?

Of course, Slice cannot control the availability or design of third-party handles. We have found that our 10524 blades fit well into (at a minimum) the following handle models: Lenox 20366SRK1, Alltrade 150003 Auto-Load, WISS Auto Retract WKAR1, IRWIN 2088600, and Milwaukee Fastback 48-22-1901.
